FOREIGN OFFICE,
June 27th, 1912,
with reference to my despatch No.23 Treaty of
October 26th last and previous correspondenco, I trans zit
to you, herewith, a copy (in print) of a further letter
from the Colonial Office, with its enclosursa, relative
to the statue in Chink of British subjects of Chinese
race.
The observations put forward in thie correspondence
can be taken into consideration when the rroposed
Commission to draw up recommendations on the subject meats
at Peking. The appointment of such Commission must,
however, for the present be deferred pending the recogni-
tion of the Government of the Chinese Republic.
